Next year Northland Spa and Pool is set to celebrate 47 years in business. Company director Lee Lomas says “It’s a major milestone for the company and one which it takes great pride in. It shows we are meeting our customer’s needs, and that putting customer care and service first pays off” The Whangarei-based company originally began in 1978 and considerable growth meant that the company moved to more spacious premises at Okara Drive in 2006.In December 2023 Lee and her husband Jason took over the company as Neil Faber left to pursue other business interests. Lee had already been working at Northland Spa & Pool for 19 years so she will not be a new face to the clients and Jason though new to the pool industry brings a new set of skills to improve and move the business forward for the next 46 years.
Northland Spa and Pool offers a wide range of spa and pool services from Wellsford northward including the rapidly growing area of Mangawhai. The company offer the internationally recognised range of Freedom fibreglass pools. Lee says the range offers the highest standards of design, environmental safety and professional craftsmanship. As fiberglass pools never need painting, they are a popular choice. Northland Spa and Pool offers many sizes and a variety of colours to choose from. Pool surrounds such as decking, paving, fencing and landscaping can be included in the total site makeover. The company offers free site visits and written quotations
Spas and hot tubs are becoming a more commonplace luxury item also. Northland Spa and Pool offers the Trueform range of spas made in Helensville, also on offer are the New Zealand made Colonial Cedar hot tubs. Hand crafted from cedar they allow people to sit or float in complete relaxation.
.
Other services offered include, pool and spa valets and a service department for repairs and maintenance of pool and spa filtration equipment, pool and spa water testing. Recent technology upgrades mean customers can now be emailed or texted when their pool or spa is due for testing or their water tests have been analysed. Customers can also be notified about sales and other important information. Jason and Lee say it is just another way the company seeks to maintain close contact with clients and ensure a high level of service beyond the initial sale.
“We like to sell a lifestyle not just a swimming pool or spa,” they explain. “People want to entertain friends and spend enjoyable time with family. They need the right solution to meet their needs and budget and one that is easy for them long term. We aim to make it easy to own a pool or spa and provide a service, which makes our customers lives simpler. For example, if the water quality is not right then it does affect the equipment. It only takes us a few minutes to check the water and it does offer our customers peace of mind so they can enjoy their pool or spa.” The small but experienced team at Northland Spa and Pool are able to offer customers a very personal service, they say. We also recognise that some customers have remained loyal to the company over many years and they have contributed in the longevity and success of Northland Spa and Pool.
